The background to this track is that initially, I wanted to create something that sounded like "Dimension" (since that one was so well received). Somewhere along the process I strayed away from that idea though. I ended up using a brighter chord progression and swing-time percussion. I thought that it fit very well and added some licks out of my trusted brass library to round it off. I'm happy with how it turned out - it has a very groovy sound and I used some new techniques in terms of composition and sound design.
For now, I'll take a break before I continue on one of my other open songs. I might release something in the style of "Rivals" next.

I always stray away from my initial ideas. It is hard to stay on track when making a song and something else slightly irrelevant to the song comes to mind.
Yeah, there's a lot of factors that can change the vision you had for a work in progress.
But it's also nice to embrace it and experiment every once in a while.
